hotandsnow.com provides information about wildfires in Europe. We do not run user accounts, we do not collect personal data through forms and we do not send newsletters. Below is what happens to technical data when you use the site.
Data controller

What we process
The site requires no registration and collects no voluntarily submitted personal data. Only technical data is processed:
- Server logs — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, browser and system type, recorded automatically by the hosting provider for security and diagnostics, on the basis of legitimate interest.
- View counts — the site counts how often each article is opened. The counter is anonymous and not linked to any user identifier.
We do not build user profiles and we do not sell data.
Cookies and third-party services
The site itself sets no marketing cookies. Cookies and connections to third-party servers occur when embedded elements load:
- Windy.com — wind and weather map embedded in a frame; the service may set its own cookies.
- YouTube — videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). A connection to Google servers is made only after you click a thumbnail.
- OpenStreetMap and CARTO — fire map tiles.
- Google Fonts — typefaces loaded from Google servers.
- NASA FIRMS — hotspot data is fetched by our server, not by your browser, so your IP address is not sent to NASA.
Affiliate links
Some partner links, in particular to the insurance comparison service, are affiliate links marked with the sponsored attribute. After clicking, the partner may set its own cookie to attribute commission. We pass no user data to partners.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
As we run no accounts or customer database, in practice the only data concerning you are server logs. Requests: kontakt@soft2biznes.pl.
You can block third-party cookies in your browser. This does not affect the fire map but may disable the weather and video previews.
Changes
We update this policy when the scope of services or third-party tools changes. The date of the last change is shown at the top of the page.
