• satellites pass over a given point only a few times a day, so a fire may appear with a delay;
• a detected thermal anomaly is not always a forest fire — it may be stubble burning, an industrial furnace or a gas flare;
• the absence of a dot on the map does not mean the absence of danger;
• weather data comes from forecast models and carries inherent uncertainty.

Emergency numbers are published with due care but may change. 112 works across the European Union and remains the safest choice.
